Mothers Day Cocktails

A Special Day this Sunday in the UK, when mothers across the country wait expectantly for some show of gratitude from their young offspring by way of a thank you gift. Some will get breakfast in bed, some will receive chocolate or flowers. Gin however is the favourite here. To show the versatility of our Gin, here are a couple of delicious cocktails we tried on this week.

French 75

An elegant mix of Gin and Champagne served in a beautiful flute glass.

50ml of McQueen Super Premium Dry Gin
25ml of fresh Lemon Juice
2 tsp of Simple Syrup
Champagne

Add the Gin, Lemon Juice and Syrup to a Cocktails Shaker filled with ice. Shake until the cocktail shaker is cold on the outside. Strain into a Flute glass and top with Champagne.

Pink Lady

50ml of Mcqueen Spiced Chocolate Orange Gin
25ml of Triple Sec
25ml of Lemon Juice
2 tsp of Grenadine
Lemon Peel twist, for garnish

Add all the ingredients to a Cocktail Shaker filled with ice. Shake until the shake is cold on the outside. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish.

We would advise to sip slowly as it is deceivingly strong - hic.

Happy Mothers Day to all women of the world, as you all have a mother somewhere.

Spiced Chocolate Orange Gin has arrived…

We are delighted to announce the arrival of our latest gin to the collection - Spiced Chocolate Orange - making 6 gins launched in 9 months.

It’s an exciting time at McQueen Gin and the new gin brings together the secret skills of distilling Chocolate (cocoa nibs) with fresh oranges and a variety of spices. The end product has the darkness of chocolate and the refreshing citrus of the oranges, making a delicious drink over ice, in a gin & tonic or a base for you to experiment with cocktails.

The Tasting Notes:- Nose: Upfront orange and juniper - followed on by a series of spices in the background with a overarching rich chocolate-ness throughout. Taste: Initial Bursting with flavour the first hit of orange is entwined with the more floral juniper notes Mid-section The orange then takes center stage with the spices building in the background. End: Rich cocoa then envelops the palate for a moment and leaves you with a lingering zesty spice. The Perfect Serve:- SPICED CHOCOLATE ORANGE 50ml McQueen Spiced Chocolate Orange Gin 100ml Fever-Tree Premium Tonic Water Big Ice Cinnamon Stick Orange Spiral Garnish

Getting Back to Basics

This weeks cocktail is as old as Gin? Well maybe from the roaring 1920’s. We have used our Smokey Chilli in this cocktail because we thought it would complement the saltiness of the olives - which it does brilliantly.

50ml of McQueen Smokey Chilli Gin
10ml of Dry Vermouth
Lots of cracked ice
Green Olives stuffed with Pimiento in Brine
Very cold Martini glass

Fill a large glass with cracked ice and add the Gin and Vermouth. Stir for at least 2 minutes - they say a Martini should be so cold it hurts to drink. Add a teaspoon of brine, strain into the Martini glass and garnish with olives.

You should get a little of the saltiness first on the tongue followed by smooth Martini with a slight chilli finish on the throat, drink more than one and the chilli will move to the lips. 🍸💋🌶
