It’s not long now until McQueen Gin burst through the doors of the Scottish Gin Awards 2018 on September 20th. We’ve been sitting here with ants in our pants ever since we heard about our 1, no wait 2, no 3, no 4, no 5, no 6, no 7, no 8, no, no, no, hang on, 9 award nominations! That is a crazy number.

These 9 humbling (massively ego-inflating) nominations for the Scottish Gin Awards 2018 are spread across 5 separate categories, and we would love nothing more than to be high-fiving all the way home with all 5 awards in our pocket. We know, we know, let’s not be greedy. But then again…let’s.

Scottish Gin Awards 2018 – McQueen Gin Nominations

1) Growth Business of the Year
This one is all on you, gin addicts! We love that you love McQueen. You’re drinking so much of the stuff that our business has grown 280%. In fact, you went out and bought 480% more of our Forest Fruits colour-changing gin than predicted! No wonder it was so hard to find a bottle, but we’ll have that sorted for all of you very soon – watch this space.

Oh, and if you’re going on holiday to Japan, Canada, Dubai, Denmark, Spain, Singapore, or Germany, you won’t need to pack McQueen Gin. A variety of flavours are on sale there now too, if you look hard enough! Thank you, for all your support.

2) Innovation of the Year
The McQueen Gin ‘decanter’ is almost as famous for its craft as the gin inside. Our original hand-painted blue-glaze ceramic bottle had served us well and won many an award, but it was time to move on.

We recently went through a major redesign, moving to a more modern and responsible, recyclable glass bottle. However, it remains a bottle like no other; retaining the hallmark of the McQueen logo shaped into the bottle itself rather than using printed label. Giving the bottle that familiar feel for all our fans.

3) London Dry Gin of the Year
We make some incredibly innovative gins, but McQueen Gin is no gimmick. When we make a classic like a London Dry Gin we make it right. That’s why our McQueen Super Premium Dry Gin is up for yet another award, to add to its already impressive tally.

No, it’s not a typo. We’ve got 5 of our finely crafted and amazingly inventive gin flavours up for the same award. As many McQueen fans know, we take great pride in naturally distilling all the flavours into our gins, never adding them after the gin leaves the still. And judging by these nominations, we think we might be on to something, don’t you?

Need we say more? Landing this one we’re not sure if we’d do an acceptance speech or just drop the mic and walk out the door. Not only are we nominated for the best distillery in Scotland, but we’re about to get a whole lot bigger. Work happening right now is going to increase our capacity over 1000% by March 2019! Meaning it should become a lot easier to get your hands on your favourite McQueen Gins up and down the country.
