You may have noticed us banging on and on these past weeks, about the upcoming Scottish Gin Awards. Well we’ve got some good news, and some great news!

Drinking with the enemy
First, the good news: the awards night is no longer ‘upcoming’. It took place last week, so you won’t need to listen to us talk about it much longer (well, maybe every now and again). The whole team went along and had a fantastic night from start to finish. We may even have sampled (more than) a few of our competitors’ gins on the night; though we won’t be telling you our favourites!

So, while the night is over, please bear with our awards talk a little longer as this is where the great news comes in…

Make ours a double
It’s just as well we’re building a bigger distillery because we’re going to need a bigger mantle too. That’s right, we won two more awards! And not just any two awards, but two in the same category: Scottish Speciality Gin of the Year.

As you know, when we craft our gins each unique flavour is infused during distillation, never being added after leaving the still. So, while it’s always lovely to win an award, or two, the ‘Scottish Speciality Gin of the Year’ category is one that really means a lot to us. It’s the award we feel recognises best what we try to do every day; create truly special gin.

Thuper Thursday
The Scottish Speciality Gin of the Year announcements were a blur of excitement. No sooner had we settled down after winning the Bronze than we heard our name being called for the Gold too. It was like our own mini (and by that point slightly tipsy) version of Super Saturday at the London 2012 Olympics. It was Thuper Thursday. At least after a few gins that’s how we were saying it.
